jsandifer
Site URL: http://jsandifer.com/ Hi Squarespace community, I've been building sites on the platform for quite a few years, mostly my own and a couple for friends. Today, I went to login to a site and it had been removed without my knowledge and transferred to someone else!! Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks! Link to comment
creedon
If you were the site owner then you need to contact SS customer support. If you were anything less than the site owner then the site owner may have made the changes. Find my contributions useful? Please like, upvote, mark my answer as best , and see my profile. jsandifer
Hi Creedon -- I built the site, managed it and was the only admin/site owner. I have contacted support, but they have not been supportive to this point. Thanks Link to comment

jsandifer
So a client that I built a site for...contacted SS and got them to hand the site over to him. His CC was on file to pay for the yearly fee, but he was not an owner or admin. He also owes me quite a bit of money...so this is a double burn. I've been a huge fan of SS but this has me rethinking about allowing any access to those that don't absolutely need it. Here is the fine print: 6.2. Ownership Disputes. Sometimes ownership of an Account or site is disputed between parties, such as a business and its employees, or a web designer and a client. We try not to get involved in these disputes. However, we reserve the right, at any time and in our sole discretion, and without notice to you, to determine rightful Account or site ownership and to transfer an Account or site to such owner. Our decision in that respect is final. If we feel that we can’t reasonably determine the rightful owner, we reserve the right to suspend an Account or site until the disputing parties reach a resolution. We also may request documentation, such as a government-issued photo ID, credit card invoice or business license, to help determine the rightful owner. Link to comment
