Direct customers to shopping cart after adding item to basket

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible to direct customers to the shopping cart page after they add a product to their cart? Currently, customers have to add the item to the cart, then click on the cart icon. I know it is possible to activate an 'express checkout' mode, but this bypasses the checkout page entirely (which I don't want to do).

There isn't a built-in method to do this. It can be achieved with code or you can buy pre-built solutions.

Note that actually sending them to the cart can be counterproductive for conversion rates. It is better to have something that highlights that the item was successfully added and that signposts how to reach the cart or continue shopping.
