A visit is a single browsing session by one user. All page views during a 30-minute window (ending at midnight) from a single user count as one visit. f the visitor returns to the site after a gap at least 30 minutes, it is considered another visit (visits=2). Note that visits are tracked using a cookie, so results may not be accurate if cookies are blocked (by their browser) or not accepted by the visitor. Cider_Cellar_Ireland
Thanks Paul. Forgive me but I don't fully grasp your response. Is the definition of a visit one individual visiting the website and viewing multiple pages? Or is a visit each page the individuals views whilst on the website? Or in other words, is a visit one individual or a is a visit a page impression? Link to comment

Is a visit one individual or a is a visit a page impression? No problem 🙂. If the visitor accepts cookies (by clicking Accept in your cookie banner) then one "visit" is one individual. That one individual may view one or more pages in a single session. However, if the cookie is not accepted, Squarespace has difficulty measuring individual visitors. On the subject of the cookie banner, I recommend that you add an 'Opt Out' to improve GDPR compliance. You can add this in Settings > Cookies & Visitor: About: Squarespace Circle Leader since 2017. brookselms
Hi Paul - Any idea why there would be a MASSIVE discrepancy between: "visits" measured by Squarespace VS "link clicks" measured by Twitter? In my case, Twitter measured 2800 clicks to my Squarespace page in a 3 day period last weekend. In that same period, Squarespace counts 101 visits to that page, and ONLY 14(!) of them were tracked from Twitter. What the heck is going on? Could a discrepancy that huge be from a cookie issue mentioned in this thread? Really appreciate the help!🙂 Link to comment
