A Comic Gallery??

I've been trying to figure out to make a Comic Gallery Section for my site to show off some personal projects but the layout options seemed fairly limited and I can't seem to get the look I want.
A good reference I have is devmadan Site (I don't know if I should Link his page here or not but it is a Squarespace site I'm sure.) An Artist that worked with Naughtydog. He has a Comic Section with a Gallery that I really like, it works well with Hosting Comics and I've been trying to get that look for a couple hours now but I can't seem to figure out it out.
I'm starting to think it's either a whole Custom Coding design he did himself or I'm just honestly missing something and I seriously don't doubt that either...
But I'm honestly very knew to this whole Site Building, Custom HTML stuff and so on. So sorry if this is like some serious Basic level stuff and I'm just wasting people time with this but I'd appreciate the help.

Another one as an Ex for the Comic itself.
Sorry for not linking earlier, I wasn't sure if I should or not.

His site is Squarespace site, uses Squarespace 7.0. I Don't remember template name. Maybe Forte, not sure

You try checking all 7.0 templates here

I didn't know the previous Versions run a lot more differently than the current one.
Is it possible to get something like Flatiron to the more current version of Squarespace?
Or I'm just better off running an older version of the website if I want that specific design?

I think you would find it easier to use the Flatiron template as opposed to try to make a 7.1 design look like it. Much easier actually. 7.1 was inspired by the success of the Brine Family of templates. Flatiron is very unique compared to Brine. That is the way 7.0 is. Each family of templates is very different from any other.
