Code to adjust the layout of Shop Page in 7.0

Currently, the shop is formatted in a grid, with rows of 4 products - a thumbnail with name and price.

I'd like it be where each product thumb is in a row of its own, left justified and then the name, price and description show to the right of the thumbnail. Is this possible with code?

The layout you want is not possible for the Product page with the settings available in SS. Although you can get one item per row SS doesn't expose the product detail description on the listing pages.

You can show your products in this style by starting a new page/section and adding a Summary Block to it.

Configure the Summary Block to link to the products and then set it to List mode. For more information, see the guide that I linked above.
