Limiting Quantities across Variants

Hi,

I'm trying to make limited prints available in my store but I want to include all variants in the limited quantity. I want to have different sizes available but max out the number of available prints at 25 total.

When I add variants I can limit the quantity of each size but I have no idea which size people will want to purchase so I can't say how many of each size are available.

Is there a way to keep my size variants but limited the total quantity of my product to 25?

Thanks.

Your options are limited because Squarespace doesn't have any built-in features to allow you to do this.

You could have a product without variants for the print and then show links for custom framing options to be added as separate products, but if there are different size options, you’d need a different product for each. It isn’t as simple as we’d like it to be.

If you are using variants, there is a Squarespace Extension available called Trunk Inventory that can manage the inventory issue. It is easy to set up and use but you must pay a reasonably high monthly subscription ($35+ per month).

Trunk works by using Squarespace’s Inventory API, so it would also be possible for a developer to build a solution for you, either on non-Squarespace infrastructure or using an RPA tool. Of course they would require a good technical understanding of APIs, API keys, and code to do this. They'd also need to be able to maintain and support it on an ongoing basis.
