"Unable to Locate Content" error with new Video Block

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://www.timmatney.com/

Hello, all, I'm getting the "Unable to Locate Content" error when trying to create a new video block on my website from a new YouTube video I created.

Apparently, this is common and there's no known fix I've found, other than "it suddenly started working again".

Yes, I checked to make sure embedding is allowed at the YouTube video.  I even tried creating a new video block from a previous video I had inserted (and is still there), and it also gets the same error?

I get the same message trying to load a Vimeo video url

It is difficult to provide specific advice as neither of you have provided the URL of the video. That said, this issue is usually caused when the video permissions do not allow embedding of the video in a third party site, so I recommend you check this first.

I'm encountering the same issue. It has always worked before and works on another page on my site. I keep getting "Unable to retrieve video. Replace link or try again." when I try to upload from YouTube. The same video is already uploaded elsewhere on my site.

If video is on Vimeo, open the video and select the Chain icon "Share Link" and ensure set to "Public" ("anyone on the internet can view"). Follow instructions to copy URL link to clipboard. Return to Squarespace Video Gallery or Page and embed the URL in the appropriate prompt. Save and Close.
