how do you get into a single page's HTML to change something?

Squarespace is a web builder and does not provide you with access to the HTML. If you want to make changes to the DOM you’ll need to use JavaScript to make changes after the page has loaded.

About me: I've been a SQSP User for 18 yrs. I was invited to join the Circle when it launched in 2016. I have been a Circle Leader since 2017. I don't work for Squarespace. I value honesty, transparency, diversity and good design ♥.
Work: I founded and run SF.DIGITAL, building Squarespace Extensions to supercharge your commerce website.

What is the DOM?

Document Object Model (DOM). The short version is, that is how a page is represented in memory in the browser. The DOM can be manipulated with JavaScript.
