Youtube link not working

Youtube links in video blocks don't work. Neither full links nor shortened links.

Have you spoken to Squarespace Customer Care about this? Sounds like a bug.

I'm having a similar issue but mine is even more specific to YouTube videos that have been scheduled. 2 weeks ago I had no issues linking scheduled YouTube videos, I could even link videos that weren't fully uploaded on YouTube, but all of sudden last week I started having issues with this. The website I'm managing is in 7.0 platform. I've been linking to these scheduled videos for 6 months, seems weird that all of a sudden it should stop working. The error I get is "Incorrect link. Replace link above". 

We are also having this problem. It's really messing with our workflow. Any guesses on when this will be fixed?

I recommend that you reach out to Squarespace Customer Care. 

The forum community would love to help but we are unable to provide any insight into technical faults. 

I found a workaround while SQS figures it out, use YouTube codes instead of links or embedding.

Youtube embed codes don't work, you need to use the URL address for the video. 

hey, for me i needed to enable 'embed video' on my youtube channel in order to show it here. but i guess this would only work if you have access to the video settings directly!

It's late August and I have the same issue. How hard can it be to fix something that broke?

Hello, I contacted Squarespace about this and clearing my Safari website data (cache) fixed it. It didn't work to just clear the data for my site, I had to clear all. Only downside is this will log you out of everything.

In your YouTube channel under Video Details (Channel Content section), make sure you click on the box for "Allow embedding" for that video.

I had the same problem on Squarespace 7.0 and to fix it: I temporarily made my Youtube videos 'public' then put the link in box and it worked. Later I moved my videos back to 'unlisted.'

I am also seeing this. Unlisted video links are not allowed by the block. I know the URL is fine because I tested it with an incognito window in the browser.

If you still can't fix this, you can copy the URL of the video and paste it into a downloader like DumpMedia to download the video. Then just upload the downloaded video to your blog post instead of pasting the YouTube link.
