Form checkbox checked by default

Hello!
I'd like the checkbox on the linked page to be checked by default. The users would uncheck as needed, and the field isn't required.

Would anyone be able to help with this please?

@paul2009 Does this apply to all 7.1 version users? I'm in the U.S. and I'm having issues prechecking a checkbox with JS and jQuery. I've already visited this forum and tried the solutions listed here:

There isn't a technical limitation. It is a legal limitation in many territories and so I don't recommend that you try to do this.

I concur. Opt-in is the way to go. Folks should not have to proactively take action to get out of something they didn't want to get into.

Hence the reason laws were made to prohibit the practice in some locations. I don't think the US has national legislation on the issue yet. I think nationally the US is attempting to persuade folks with guidelines (ha, like that will work). There appear to be some local efforts, at the State level for example.
