How to remove unwanted fonts?

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://www.byelsapapa.com

I am using 3 fonts on my website but Spacebar (for SEO purposes) is telling me there are 5 on my website (so 2 unchosen are hidden somewhere and I cannot identify where). When I go through my Site Styles (and under every single sections where I had to input my chosen fonts) only the 3 I am using appeared.

How can I remove these unwanted fonts (invisible fonts through design)?

Thanks so much in advance!

You cannot remove the Squarespace UI and Clarkson fonts as these are required by the platform. The UI font is used to render controls (like prev and next arrows) and the Clarkson font (part of the Squarespace brand) is the only font available on the checkout page.

These ones don't seem to be the problem.

I have an unwanted Sacremento font + Rubix font. That's all. I have read something about downloaded the stylesheet and find + replace the font that way and then upload the sheet onto Squarespace once changed. I have no idead how to do all this though? Do someone know what are the steps to get to that?

heyhey,
i have a question regarding unwanted fonts.

is there any way to exclude / remove google fonts from the squarespace template?
i am already using my own custom webfont that is uploaded to the site.
besides that i changed all fonts in the design menu to a system font (times new roman).

when i check the site with a google font checking website the googlefont Poppins still appears.

this is a big problem in germany right now due to some gdpr regulations.

if possible i want the whole site to just use one Font family, and not load any google font.

is that possible by some css code ?

Hey all! found a solution to this in another thread—basically go to the bottom of your site styles section and choose "Export Style Pack" (beta). open that json file in a text editor, do a find-replace for all the fonts you don't want (I'd leave safe fonts like arial maybe though) using your selected fonts as the replace. Save that file and then do an "Import Style Pack" (beta) of the newly saved file with just the fonts you're using.

Chances are a lot of the fonts you didn't want in the site are hidden blocks that you're not using anyway, so you will likely be safe replacing with whatever you consider your base or body text font.

Hope this helps—saved a TON of time creating unlinked pages and adding blocks to see where the leftover unwanted fonts were!
