Custom CSS ID Block keeps changing.

I'm tying to use the Custom CSS function outlined here to add a background color to a blog carousel (version 7.0) but every time I go back and edit the page the id changes and I loose my styling. How can I lock in the ID number ? (https://www.bigcatcreative.com/blog/background-text-block-squarespace)

Don't use #yui-... it is dynamic ID, will be lost when you reload the page

Use #block-yui...

That ID is defined on the HTML page, not the Custom CSS page though right? So does that mean I need to figure out how to rebuild the carousel in a code bloc to get it to work? O can I change that somewhere without needing to hack it too badly?
