vertically align text and shrink images

Hi, I'm trying to vertically align all of the corresponding text to the images on the front page/all pages really. Where can I find the text ids/can anyone help? E.g. the bio beside the headshot on this page. I also want to add another image with bottom aligned text to its side but I can't leave it up halfway done just now as the site is live. 

Also is there another way of shrinking images without playing with spacers and section widths?
