Custom header padding on index page

When I adjust the header or page padding for my website, the adjustments don't seem to apply to my Index page. I reached out to Squarespace Support, and they mentioned the Index doesn't have an independently adjustable header. This is resulting in the spacing being very tight on my Index page, but looking normal on project pages. Is there a way (perhaps using custom CSS) to have the two pages have identical header padding & spacing?

Add to Design > Custom CSS

body.collection-type-index div#canvas {
    padding-top: 10px;
}
body.collection-type-index header#header {
    margin-bottom: 0px !important;
}
body.collection-type-index .extra-wrapper.page-header {
    margin-top: 10px;
}
