Import Product Inventory / Details - Additional Info .CSV

Recommended Posts

I have designed my site and now ready to import product inventory.

Is there a way to import "additional info" or does it have to be added to each product individually.

I am asking because there is not a column for it on the "csv" template.

To my knowledge there isn't a way to export or import any content of the Additional Info section from Products. This section typically contains Squarespace Blocks and isn't suitable for storage in a comma separated file.

Is there any way you can add the same...standard info such as shipping terms, refund/exchanges, care of product and product materials [to every product]?

Yes, it is possible to write custom scripts that add 'boilerplate' content to every product detail page (or other types of page).

For the Product example, you'd create the content somewhere (depending on the type of content) and then use some code to import this into a specific location whenever a product detail page (pdp) loads.

Some sites do this for content that is common to all products, whereas others may need to pull information according to the type of product, for example showing cleaning instructions according to the product materials, or shipping information according to the type of package. In this case product "tags" can be useful in determining which information is added. The information can include icons, accordions and so on.

I cannot easily provide an 'all cases' solution in a forum post but if you have screenshots and links to what you are trying to achieve, the community may be able to provide you with further guidance. 🙂
