Resizing images after uploading

I'm fairly new to Squarespace and came from doing my website on Wordpress. The only frustration I have with Squarespace is not being able to resize your images after uploading them. For example, say I want a little image with text. Even if I make the image 100px x 100px it still upload huge and is super blurry. If I upload a higher quality photo it uploads huge as well and there is now way to minimize the size of the photo by keeping the quality the same. In Wordpress, I was able to change the width and height of the photo after uploading or I could add custom css just to the photo to decrease the size on how it appears on the page. I think this is something Squarespace needs to offer. But in the meantime, is there an easy way to do this? I have tried using spacers to decrease the width but in some cases they still upload big, for example if you are using an image card, image stack, etc. Please help!! Is there a way to add code fairly easily to images? Thanks!
