BulletBarDave
I am considering using Squarespace to create my website. What would happen if Squarespace closed? Would I lose my site or could I take it with me and host it elsewhere? Link to comment
Gene Mc
As far as I know you continue to own your site. If Squarespace were to close, hopefully they would give us all some notice so we could use their export features to pull our content down for use elsewhere. Link to comment

neiladots
You will definitely continue to own your domain. In fact if you decide to leave squarespace you can take your domain with you. The content on your site you can export to an .xml file, so you'll lose a lot of the script-driven features and css, but you will at least retain a copy of your core content. The templates are squarespace's products, so it would be a bit odd if you could just steal their styling and take it with you. Link to comment
Featured Comment edokken Posted August 10, 2016 Featured Comment Share Posted August 10, 2016 NeilaDot is correct. You own your content and domain name, however, if you leave Squarespace the Template will stay with Squarespace as that is a part of the Squarespace Platform. For more information on exporting your site should you decide to leave, you can refer to Squarespace's guide on that here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206566687-Exporting-your-site Link to comment
