Having trouble with a 301 redirect from old site to new...

Any help would be appreciated!

I just launched a NEW site with a blog: www.christymaguire.com (CM)

I have an OLD site with a blog: www.fortiesstories.com (FS)

I want the OLD site to keep the link BLOG in the header and redirect to the NEW blog location.

I have mapped it like this:

/blog -> /https://www.christymaguire.com/blog 301

But, it is not transferring. It says to disable the old page, but if I do that it takes BLOG out of the header. I changed the blog to old-blog and disabled it, and created a new blog on FS to redirect, but it just links to the new blank page.

What am I doing wrong?

BTW - I don't want to transfer any of the old blog posts, just want a total redirect. Thanks!

You will need to disable the old page because redirection only works when the original URL (/blog) doesn't exist.

Once you have done this, you can add a 'BLOG' entry to the header by adding a link with the name blog and the url of https://www.christymaguire.com/blog instead. See Adding links to your navigation.

Thank you SO much! It took all of about 2 minutes. I watched about 10 videos on this and nobody mentioned it. Really appreciate it!!
