Avenue - Adding moving slideshow of images to index page?

Hi all,

I've attached a link to my website. I was wondering if there was a way to have the square tiles like they are now, but to have above them a large image that is a slideshow of images to give people a flavour of my work before they have to click into the square 'links' to the galleries?

I did try to make a new gallery using the + button on top navigation but that just makes a new slideshow page under the menu so I then make a moving slideshow on a blank page and added that to the top navigation but it did the same. Dropping that page to the 'Work' section just makes a new square tile so again didn't work ?
