Keito
Site URL: https://keitofitness.com I used a website speed test (https://tools.pingdom.com/#5fd89e0bef000000). My score was greatly impacted by lack of gzip compression: GRADE SUGGESTION F - 0/100 Compress components with gzip Compression reduces response times by reducing the size of the HTTP response. Gzip is the most popular and effective compression method currently available and generally reduces the response size by about 70%. Approximately 90% of today's Internet traffic travels through browsers that claim to support gzip. I've searched for how to compress with gzip within Squarespace, but cannot find any instructions, nor anything explicitly stating that this is not possible. Is it possible to perform gzip compression within Sqsp (as opposed to downloading & compressing the files with another program myself)? Thank you! TLCDesigns and dmarji 2 Link to comment

dmarji
I'd also really appreciate this information - it would greatly benefit my site! Link to comment
geoff.dunkak
also curious about gzip. As I have found with some other page load recommendations, some things are sacrificed for the ease of use the Squarespace tool provides, that's fine, but it'd be good to know. Link to comment
Chrissi
Come on Squarespace. This is greatly impacting my site speed, get it together! Link to comment
p33photography
I need help too! Their customer support is ridiculously unhelpful when it comes to increasing site speed. We need gzip AND .webp capabilities! Link to comment
Drewski
I am also having the same issue. It's the #1 reason my site is a little slow according to speed tests. Please fix this squarespace! Link to comment

SARAHJBENNETT
Also having the same problem! Please advise Squarespace! This issue is deeply impacting a commerce site I've built and affecting purchase follow-through! Link to comment
cbrownphoto
Clearly this is not something Squarespace offers or will offer. They are about ease of use, not page load speed. Link to comment
Agentive
I am having this issue, too - can we move this up in the development queue, please, Squarespace? Link to comment
Belizabeth
I need help with this as well. Thank you! Link to comment
RBaker
Squarespace, it sounds like you have lots of demand for tools to speed up websites. Google really cares about this and so should you. I understand the platform compatibility issue but there should be some other solutions. Our site scored poorly in a few areas and I would love the help! Our website is www.mmmooreinc.com Link to comment
CPR001
Squarespace I feel totally let down by your company. I left wordpress and rebuilt site expecting to have an easier life (because I believed in you) but the website is so slow, how can you expect us to sit back and lose sale after sale in such a competitive market?? Please listen to your customers and help us speed up our website asap or I will be leaving! Link to comment
msean
Also interested in solutions for speed issues. Doing everything possible on this end and still get abysmal "core vitals" score on tests. Ease of use and aesthetics of platform are kinda worthless if Google won't rank sites based on this issue.... Please address! Link to comment
LindaCordair
SqSp's lack of response to these requests is concerning Link to comment
