Background colour changes when I add a background image

Hey Everyone,

So I'm having a problem with background images in my site changing the background colour. In the 'How it began' section, I added a background image of a park with squirrels. The sky is in the image is transparent and I have the background colour set to a dark purple but for some reason it's showing up as red. When I delete the image the background colour becomes purple. How do I get the image in there and have the background behind the image purple?
