play/pause buttons for slideshow

I have a simple slideshow on my site homepage. I have it set to autoplay, which is good - I want to cycle the images automatically. But, I recognize this can be annoying if the window is sitting half behind another window, etc, and it just goes and goes. 

Is it possible to add play and pause buttons so it'll still automatically cycle, but CAN be stopped if the user wants?

I have this same question! A client would like for a viewer to be able to pause a slideshow and then go back and forth. Thanks!
