SS7.1 How to add drop shadow to footer?

I want a dropshadow added above footer, so you can distinguish white footer from white page.
Tried this:

footer#footer-sections {
    box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px black;
}

But that didnt work.

Hey @Akseli-Saarreharju try to add next code in Custom CSS:

#footer-sections {
  box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px black;
  position: relative;
  z-index: 2;
}
