Syntax Error on line 1 - Mailchimp code

Good afternoon,

I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have entered the custom code from mailchimp, so the popup banner appears when people visit my website. It was working for ages, but I've just noticed it's started being a bit hit and miss and would only work when accessed from my phone. I also now have a 'Syntax on line 1' error.
I have recently added a hidden page on my site for links, so I have a linktree on my instagram profile, I wonder if this has efffected it somehow ? ( I get the pop up when I click on my linktree)
I am clueless when it come to code!

Hi. Your code is script code, you need to add it to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > Footer (or Header)

You see the errror because the Custom CSS box for CSS code only.
