Replace text string by image in text block using Javascript

Hi,

I am trying to add some icons inside a text block by replacing some text strings by an image url using Javascript.

I found several scripts that cycle through the page's HTML and replace a text string by something else, but even tho it actually works, it prevents all the rest of the page from loading correctly. I think it interferes with Squarespace 7.1's animations or something.

One of the scripts used to work on an old website I made using Squarespace 7.0, but the same script doesn't work with 7.1

Does anyone have a working script to achieve something like this?
