Anja
Hi. I have recently added a product to my squarespace website and the VAT calucation doesn't seem right. I have added two countries (Germany and the netherlands) and set both to 21% VAT. The product costs 39,50 Euro including VAT. The VAT is displayed as €6.86. (Instead of €8.29) Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong? Link to comment

If a product is 39,50 inclusive of 21% VAT then 32,64 + 6,86 is correct. 🙂 Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. MJF_01
@paul2009 Hi Paul, or anyone that can help, I'm having a similar, but different, problem with VAT. On the product pages within the store, the incl. VAT is wrong - this is not consistent and changeable depending on the variant of the product selected. For example, Product A, when landing on the page, shows from £80.00 excl. VAT - followed by - from £96.00 incl. VAT - this is correct. However, if I select variant A from the drop-down list the excl. VAT figure is updated to £153.00, but the incl. VAT remains at from £96.00. If I then select variant B from the drop-down list - excl. VAT figure is updated to £160.00, but the incl. VAT figure changes to £183.60 - which is wrong, it should be £192 (£160 + £32). Selecting variant C from the drop-down list - excl. VAT figure is updated to £320.00, but the incl. VAT figure changes to £192.00 - which is completely wrong. Are you able to offer any help or insight into this challenge I currently have? If I 'add to cart' any product and go to check out, the VAT is calculated correctly - it's just the visual display prior. Thanks Mark Link to comment

They don’t show both. Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. I value honesty, transparency, diversity and good design ♥. Work: Founder of SF.DIGITAL. MJF_01
Apologies, Paul, I'm referring to the physical displayed web page (see below) which shows both the excl. and incl. VAT prices. You're correct, the product page only allows you to put in a single price. Link to comment
paul2009
Can you provide me with a working link to this page? Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. paul2009
Thanks for the link. As I explained, Squarespace doesn't show VAT inclusive and exclusive prices (it shows one or the other) but I can now see that someone has added custom code to this site to manually add the inclusive pricing. Unfortunately the code doesn't appear to have been written to take variants into account so will need to be re-written. I recommend contacting the person who supplied this to report the issue.
