How to embed autoplaying videos on hover with Squarespace Templates

Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well.

At the moment, I'm trying to update and modernize my website. Specifically I want to change something to my home/starting-page AND as well, my portfolio, which at the moment is organized in the Avenue (7.0) template with an Index section.

I would love to transform my page to a more responsive design and now, I'm a bit struggling because I really don't know which template I should use to start with. As already mentioned, I would love to have a similar starting page with a video playing in the background on loop and for my "Work" overview, I would like to implement an autoplay on hover feature, as in the reference.

I already found third-party "Autoplay hover" solutions, but most of them just don't work and some require Squarespace 7.1 - which then would lead me to a change from my Avenue template to something else. That's basically why I'm not sure which template I should go with to start and re-design and modernize my website.

Any help is appreciated and as I really am a bit lost at the moment, I will also accept recommendations for experts to help me redesign. Thank you!
