SourceProjects
Site URL: https://www.ismondrosen.squarespace.com Hello, does anyone know who I can contact to retrieve the content of an expired Squarespace site? A project I started for a client over a year ago had to be paused as they had to supply the text, which they didn't do until this week. I paid to reactivate the site earlier (the thumnail image on my dashboard gave the impression that the content was still there) and am devastated to see that all the pages are GONE! I have emailed Squarespace Support only to be told that content is deleted after 30 days. However, that has not been the case in the past with other expired projects I have brought back to life. Does anyone know if there is any particular person or technical department within Squarespace I can contact who can actually check the servers and try and help me restore the website? Otherwise I will have lost about 60 hours of work as well as the structure of how I laid out the website content in the first place... Any advice would be much appreciated. There's a short window of opportunity during which you can recover a site. You can usually restore the content if a site expired within the last 30 days. At that point the site has only been marked for deletion; nothing has actually been removed, even if it is not visible when you log on. Within this period you can usually restore it yourself by logging on to the site and extending the trial. Note that it can take a few minutes for the content to reappear so it's worth being patient. However the bad news is that if a site expires and you don't realise within the first 30 days, it becomes increasingly unlikely that you'll be able to restore the content and/or structure. If this happens, the best course of action is to contact Customer Care as soon as you notice and the team can then investigate whether they can restore site content. It sounds like you've done this and they've told you that it cannot be restored. Unfortunately, when this happens there's nothing else you can do 🥲. About: Squarespace Circle Leader since 2017. I seem to have had very good luck in the past with this situation then but today this was not the case unfortunately! Squarespace Support have checked and confirmed it's gone... It had expired for over a year in fairness. paul2009 1 Link to comment
paul2009
Sadly there's not a way to filter your account page to show you the expiring/expired sites. It would be a really helpful feature. creedon 1 About: Squarespace Circle Leader since 2017. Jes_Shine
This same exact thing happened to me. The misleading thumbnail showing my design is what has me mad. I would have never paid it thinking that'd bring my content back. In good news, online customer service responded very quickly to tell me it's permanently deleted and processed a refund.
