ecommerce Can any one recommend a in person POS for Canada that can be integrated into Squarespace?

Squarespace confirmed that Square cannot work in Canada. 

So I'm looking for an in-person POS system that can be integrated into our squarespace website.

Do any of you have recommendations?

It isn't possible to 'integrate' a POS system with Squarespace.

US customers can use the Squarespace POS solution, but in Canada you'll need to use a standalone system and maintain a separate inventory on something else - for example Square or Shopify. You can then use a 'connector' like Trunk to keep track of the inventory between the two separate systems. It's not cheap and it's not very flexible. In all honesty, it's easier to switch to another platform that supports web and POS, like  Square or Shopify, or if you like Squarespace's design features, you may want to consider embedding Shopify Buy Buttons within Squarespace.

Is there a plan to eventually bring the Squarespace POS solution to Canada?

I've emailed support about this a couple times over the years and always get a copy / paste response back about how my "suggestion" has been passed on to development etc.

Would really help with some near term decisions if I knew whether or whether not the feature would ever be rolled out in Canada. The fact that Squarespace seems to be working on its own payments processor (as per Squarespace's October 4 email blast) gives me hope, but I don't want to be holding my breath for too long.

Regarding your near term decisions, there's nothing on the roadmap to extend POS beyond the US, so I doubt you'll see this in Canada (or here in the UK) any time soon.

As far as eventually is concerned, I think you're right. If I were a financial controller at Squarespace (I'm not!), I'd want to capture a percentage of all those POS payments and increase the user base too. So, when Squarespace Payments rolls out beyond the US, I'd see that as a fantastic opportunity to replace the Square Payments feature on POS (which is limited to the US) with Squarespace Payments and a Stripe Reader, and then extend its reach to other countries and currencies. Let's hope 🤞.
