Dealing with spacing between lines of poetry

I am sorry if this is a stupid question. I have actually transferred and am now using Merida template on version 7.1. How do I get rid of these spaces between the lines! Desperate for help! Is there a way to have it input exactly like it looks in a word doc? I have tried everything

You can have less space between your paragraphs of text, if you use a soft return (hold shift when you press return or enter). This is outlined in the help guide that I am linking below:
