derricksrandomviews
My site, the landing page first, then the photos page, then all the rest. I guess I am most proud of the images I have on the site. my random views Edited November 24, 2021 by derricksrandomviews Tajean, Beyondspace, Jo_SQSP and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Brent_Dickens
I always spend a lot of time on the typography because I am a bit of a type nerd lol! So for me it is the typography first then the colour palette. Tajean, Tiny_Coast, alohomoira and 2 others 5 Link to comment
Spark_Plugin
It depends on the style of the website. Some might for example go all in with a contrasty color palette, while some do very well with unique typography. For me, it is smooth animations, and I try to add it as much as possible. One animated element that makes the site stand out from the rest (I think), is the animated gradient headings: Edited December 6, 2021 by Spark_plugin Tiny_Coast and Brent_Dickens 2 - Rasmus Myhrberg, Founder of Spark Plugin Spark Plugin – The Ultimate Design Toolkit for Squarespace Link to comment
GeraldW32
I would say the color scheme and images, both used thoughtfully in order to create a cohesive look that will make the website stand out from the competition and create a visually pleasing effect. Link to comment
jimtothprairieartist
I am completely new on SQSP and am trying to build my web site to sell my art. I have seen a landing page featuring a "person" walking by a glass named art gallery looking through the glass at images on the inside walls of the person's artwork. Does anyone know from where I can get that template? Beyondspace 1 Link to comment
djshiflet
I would say good typography is key! From my perspective there is so much detail you can get into when it comes to assigning your font sizes, colors, and hierarchy. It also looks very professional and creative when done right. rkeyes
Sometimes, I think it icons. That said, I think this element sometimes helps user to understand how to switch different section of the website, especially, browsing a menu of your website. Link to comment
tobybishops
I can suggest some visual elements that can make a website stand out. The use of bold and eye-catching colors, high-quality images and graphics, an intuitive and user-friendly interface, clear and concise typography, and a clean and uncluttered design are all elements that can make a website stand out. Additionally, incorporating unique and creative design elements, such as animations or interactive features, can make a website even more memorable and engaging for visitors. GeraldW32
6 hours ago, sabirpathan said: Unique color schemes and contrast Eye-catching images or graphics Interesting typography Creative use of whitespace Interactive features like animations or videos Consistent branding and messaging throughout the site Clear navigation and user-friendly layout High-quality and responsive design across all devices All valid points, great list. I just want to comment on "across all devices" and emphasize how important this is (even if it doesn't fall under "a visual element that makes a website stand out"). Optimizing for all screens is something I've seen being forgotten more times than I can remember. Link to comment
Beyondspace
I am the worst designer, so I tried to focus on the functionality of the element more than the look&feel. danishf
There are several visual elements that can make a website stand out, depending on the design and purpose of the website. However, one of the most impactful visual elements that can make a website stand out is the use of high-quality, visually appealing images or videos. Images and videos can immediately capture the attention of visitors and convey a message or emotion in a powerful way. They can help to establish the tone and style of the website and create a memorable impression on visitors. Additionally, the use of visually striking graphics, icons, and animations can also enhance the visual appeal of a website and make it stand out. Link to comment
Tiny_Coast
The first things that come to mind for me are imagery, colour palette and typography. But if i had to choose just one, i would say typography - i think it can have a huge impact on the overall vibe of a website and can convey a lot about the brand personality.
