How to create a multilingual site with navigation links in one language at a time?

Hi guys!

I would like to add two additional languages to my existing site.

According to Squarespace tutorial, there are two options.

1) Navigation links would be displayed in all languages at the same time (attached is a screenshot from the tutorial video). I would like to avoid this as it looks confusing and cluttered.

2) Create folders for different languages. In this case, the problem is that only the folder names (e.g. English and French) and none of the other pages would be displayed as navigation links (another screenshot from the tutorial showcasing this is attached). This is also suboptimal because it would mean less visibility and more clicks (traction) for the visitors.

Is there any way to make the navigation links appear in one language at a time?

If not, is it at least possible to display flags instead of language names?

Thank you in advance!

See this post about flags:

Regarding other multi-language options, take a look at How to setup multi-language content on any Squarespace Template.

What do you think would make more sense:
a) to start a new website from scratch and implement Brad's code, or
b) to add the code to the existing site?

I don't see any benefit in starting a new site unless the current site is on an old template. The site you've linked is on the latest template. 🙂
