Promotional Pop Up Custom Frequency

The code (shared earlier here) will cause the promotional pop-up to continuously appear. Every time the user returns to the page (for example from the cart page) it will appear again, which is likely to discourage potential customers.

There are a number of other issues with using the promotional pop-up as an age-gate solution, aside from the obvious issue that you'll no longer be able to use it for promotions! 

The popup can also be dismissed easily by clicking just about anything, including the X (close) button or anywhere outside the popup. This means that underage users are not clicking a specific element to consent, they are simply clicking anywhere to reach the age-restricted content. Nothing will return them to "safety" either. As you've noted, if you don't add code it also won't reappear until the next day - something that can be an issue in some territories.
