Transferring pre-paid hosting to a new site (the client upgraded their website)

Hello!

I have recently re-built a client's site on Squarespace. We opted for duplicating their exisiting theme and then working from the duplicated version due to the high amount of web traffic that they receive each day and due to the amount of structural work that the new site needed. They have already paid annually for their web hosting on their exisiting site and I am wondering if there is a way to transfer the remaining balance to their new theme? The new site will be using the same domain, I will be re-directing the domain to the new (duplicated) site.

It is not possible to transfer the subscription but, when you're ready to switch, you can start a new subscription on the new site and cancel the old subscription. If there is time remaining on the old subscription (more than a month) then, as a Circle Member, you can then contact Customer Care to request a straightforward pro-rata refund.

This seems ridiculous that the process of transferring to a duplicate site is so complicated. I too am designing a site for a client (using his login here) and just finished his new site in the duplicate to what is currently live. I now have to have him pay for NEW hosting, and then wait the 7-10 (or however long it takes) business days for the refund of the prorated amount. What's worse is that all correspondence seems to only be done via email!
