I am creating a new site with a 7.1 version template and I can't figure out how to create my home page without a trailing slug. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have a website that has two home pages, example.com and example.com/homepage causing this error message from Google. Do you know how to fix this issue? Thanks!!   How can I set the home page to be example.com?

What I would prefer is that both the logo and the home tab go to example.com. NOT the example.com/homepage

The best thing to do to not "confuse" google is to give the page set as home, and there can only be one of those, the slug "home". A home page like all the others has to have a slug. If you don't assign one the configuration program will.

To create a home page without a trailing slug in a 7.1 version template, navigate to your website's dashboard and locate the page settings for your home page. Look for an option to edit the URL or slug and remove any trailing text. Save your changes, and your home page should now display without a trailing slug in the URL. If you're having trouble finding this option, refer to the template's documentation or reach out to the template provider for assistance.

3.5

If you remove the trailing text  Squarespace will automatically populate the URL slug field with the page title. You can change the home page URL slug to home or anything you want, but it will not remain blank when saved. Any page set as home will be exhibited in the browser bar without the /home.
