Gallery for Photographers

Hello everyone,

so I'm currently looking to build a website and have an online gallery where customers can choose pictures of them. I saw that Squarespace has a gallery feature but only thing i could do there was scroll through it. Not select or like an image. As it is right now, it would be nice for a portfolio but not for an interactable gallery. Since Squarespace also offers shop features I thought that such gallery feature would exist.

So do i need to treat Squarespace just as some sort of portfolio website or are there any hidden features so that i can expand its functionality?

There are functions for selling images with Squarespace, Justin uses the Wells template and has an online store.
