Header: Primary Navigation button issue

I use a 'link' button on my Primary Navigation called 'Portfolio'. The actual link I use in this 'link' button is #featuredwork. Using #featuredwork allows the button to simply scroll the page down to the Featured Work section of the index. I LOVE that.

However, the problem arises when a user of my site is on a page other than my main index page. For example - https://www.borregostudios.com/contact. Then, the link button 'Portfolio' which is still visible on the primary navigation, just doesn't do anything when clicked. 

Ideally, I would love it if the 'Portfolio' button located in the Primary Navigation worked as-is on the home index page, and would also redirect to my portfolio page (https://www.borregostudios.com/portfolio) when it is clicked on any other page besides the main home index page.

Is this possible?
