Custom Site Build SS vs Wordpress - suitable for what we need

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://theweddingcollective.co.uk

Hello - new to the forum but I use SS for another business and love how easy it is to make it look slick. I have an existing business that is a directory / media site for wedding businesses: www.theweddingcollective.co.uk
It's built on Wordpress but I'm not sure if its a style of site that could be custom built by someone using SS?  Any custom designers in here able to help advice?

There are a number of Squarespace templates that have a very similar look to the site you posted built by The Web Company, which includes a Shopify site.  They can be customized to look more like it as well, with added header images, using  split navigation, flexible photo grids or walls, etc. Out of the box so to speak a template in the older but still really good 7.0 the Pacific template family is a great place to start looking. Also members of the Brine Family, and there are over 40 of those. All will interface with Shopify, and Instagram. They can also have their own Squarespace store. The two demo links are to one page sites, but they can be expanded with gallery pages, instagram page, whatever you want.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely look into those options!

The thing I'm concerned about I guess is getting the functionality we need for example on our directory where need to be able to sort and display profiles by diff criteria:

That should not be a problem. I use a sort funcion on my site for all my blog/story posts. I do so by subject, using category/tag filtering. This can be done using drop downs or links, and I have both. Check out my nav bar which sorts, and my story by subject drop down. These kind of links can be added to text as well.
