Change image padding on mobile + No cropping

Hi,

I have what seems like a unique request for an image on my home screen (and once sorted for everypage).

Im looking to have 2 things happen when changing from desktop to tablet to mobile.

1. I would like the image to not be cropped when down sizing.

2. I would like to have the padding removed from the sides when sizing down (no white borders on the edges)

The site i got the idea from is www.queensmith.co.uk (This is also built on squarespace). The main image is edge to edge on mobile but has borders on desktop.

The image currently in place is the image that came with the template, i plan on changing the image which is why i dont want the cropping when sizing down.

And both tablet and mobile, basically when it gets shrunk down smaller than a desktop i want the wide on either side to not show. (Like www.queensmith.co.uk)
