First 1 second glace: Very nice aesthetics!

Note: My feedback is my personal opinion based on my experience and feelings

  1. The announcement bar at the top seems to go astray. It's quite camouflaged and people can miss it at first glance.
    1. Either change the purple to a lighter, vibrant purple or change the text to white or another design where the bar is more noticable
  2. Blue buttons seems out of place with your colour palette of your site. You have this kind of musky purple and you have this highly saturated blue (close to facebook blue) contesting it.
    1. Play with the colours, if you want to keep the blue or purple, have different shades. For example the announcement bar could be a light purple while the buttons are medium purple.
  3. Navigtion Bar: You don't need a "home" button/link. Most websites and people know the logo is the home button which is does.
    1. If you remove this, you nav bar will look cleaner and less cluttered
  4. Stock photos:
    1. Try get stock photos that are similar to represent your brand. For example your hero images have monotone colours of black, white, browns, oranges... very earthy colours. While your "modern, simple, actionable, accessible" photos are different photostyles and feels. Try match it all up.
    2. For example: "Simple" and "Actionable" have the same feel and look while "accessible"  and "modern" are two different complete styles and feelings.
  5. Footer: Include links in your footer. Example: social media (if you have any), address, phone number, terms and conditions, pricing or anything that you don't want to have on the main top navigation

This site is a 7.1 site and you are making good use of an index page. That is why it says home on the NAV bar. If the home page has a lot of content as yours does, having home on the NAV bar is not a bad thing at all. Your site lends itstelf to quite a bit of scrolling, so I would suggest you make it a bit easier to navigate with the use of a simple "back to top" button. To do that add a code block in your footer set for html and add this code between the <p>s:

<a href="#top" class="t-top"><span class="arrow"></span>Top</a>
<style>
  /* Back to Top */
.t-top {
    font-weight: 500;
    letter-spacing: 2px;
    font-size: 15px;
    text-transform: lowercase;
    text-align: center;
    line-height: 1.6;
    padding-left: 2px;
    padding-top: 4px;
    position: fixed;
    right: 25px;
    bottom: 60px;
    width: 40px;
    height: 40px;
    z-index: 999;
    background-color: transparent;
    color: #000;
  filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666)
}
.t-top .arrow:before {
      font-family: 'squarespace-ui-font';
    font-style: normal;
    font-weight: 300;
    font-size: 20px;
    line-height: 1;
    -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
    content: "\e02d";
    text-align: center;
    display: block;
    vertical-align: middle;
    transform: rotate(-90deg);
    cursor: pointer;
    margin-left: -4px;
  filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666)
}
.t-top .arrow {display:inline;}
</style>

You can see this button in use here on this page: https://christinegregoryphotography.com/kisses

On this site there is a landing page, so home is not on the nav bar. By the way, a home page does not have to be called "home" you can name call it something else if you wish, something more connected to your site's concept.

thanks a lot both for your very valuable feedback! we incorporated your points and made the adjustments. Only, we do not manage to get rid of the "home" index on top (if we want to delete it, it would delete the full page incl the content).

Thanks again and please let me know in case I could help with anything for your own pages.

Best,

Clemens

Celmens,

I read your post a few minutes ago. I review your website.
I suggest using one or two colors in your website design. I am Visual UX Designer and Squarespace website designer. I use UX Design principles in my design.

What are your brand's primary colors? Based on the colors of your website, Purple is your primary color. I suggest changing CTA buttons to purple and not using blue. Blue and Purple are complimentary colors.

CTA button " Find out for free" on the home page changed to purple. I will use rich purple and add black to the existing purple color.

You can use different shades of purple through the pages but one color.
I always check the mobile version first before confirming the desktop version. When you have a successful mobile site you have a successful professional website.

Your target images ( Simple, Actionable) on the home page are not clickable. Be sure that pages are linked and interconnected and users can find the information fast and easily. All pages have to be synced together and have easy navigation on your site.

I will use consistent branding throughout the site. Use images of the same shape and design on each page. I see images in a circle and square shapes. You can use pictures in a square shape on every page.
A three-column page with images repeat through images creates a similar user experience.

Yes, it is good that you are using one font Poppins in different weight on all pages.

Good Luck!
