Summary Block Is Affecting Page Width

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am using a summary block to pull in testimonial quotes in blog format. However, after adding the summary block, I noticed that page width increases. When I open the summary block editor, I click Design and then change the Number Of Items to 30, and it adds to the page width of the entire page. In other words, if I visit the homepage and scroll to the left, there is added white space margin on the right hand side. If I change the Number Of Items to 15, it solves the problem -- but I have more than 15 items I need to display.

Curiously, using this same setup on the pages called Jen, NYC Classes, Online Classes, and Events, I do not have the same issue. (Even though the Number Of Items on these pages is still set to 30, maybe it is because I have fewer posts to display from these blogs.)

I have tried creating a new blog and populating it with the same posts but it results in the same problem. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Hi there! I'm going mad with this problem as well. Unfortunately, the code above doesn't seem to work for my site. I tried several different codes, targeting the summary block only, etc, but nothing happened. Any thoughts perhaps?

The problem is that when the site opens, there's a white space on the right and a scroll bar at the bottom. Once you scroll down to the summary block (Journal with blog posts), it becomes normal and stays this way. I tried adjusting summary block settings but the problem is persistent if there are 2 or more items.

It seems like the items in the summary block are too big when the site is opened (as if it was opened on a smaller browser even though it's not) so they move to the next row causing the issue with the page width. Once they render properly (after scrolling), the page width goes back to normal...but it could be something else... so annoying...

Thanks for any help!!

Try adding this to Design > Custom CSS

body {
	overflow-x: hidden;
}
