Adding a way for people to RSVP to events

I have been going in circles trying to find a way for people to RSVP to my events. I'm aware that Squarespace doesn't have this option (at least that's what I understand). 

I DID manage to add a FORM section to the events page… (I only added it to homeschool hang out).  When people fill out their name along with a message I DO get an email with this info… this "could" work for an RSVP… except that, I was hoping the comment could remain on the website for everyone to see it. 

I was thinking maybe a comments section added to the events page would work. Is this possible? I haven't figured out how to do this. 

Any other ideas are appreciated.
