Becoming Verified Merchant on Pinterest

Hi -  I am trying to become a verified merchant on pinterest but any blogs i have found require the site to be on version 7 to be able to upload your product CSV file - My site is on version 7.1 so i cant turn on developer mode to be able to work around it. 

Has anyone else figured out how to become verified on pinterest yet without compromising your site?

You can connect your Squarespace site to Pinterest to claim your website and get access to analytics for the Pins that you publish, but you cannot currently use the Pinterest Catalogues feed ingestion tool to upload your product catalogue, as this isn't supported on Squarespace.
