Counter add-on / code

I'm trying to create a page where I add a pledge counter similar to

https://www.frankwater.com/pledge-to-refill

I believe this is a Squarespace website but It seems that this counter doesn't quite work. though, I tried to sign up but the number doesn't change.

Is there a way to create this via code block?

I checked the site, the number seems to be hard coded. But I think of a solution is to store the submission into a google spreadsheet and use javascript to get the record count there
