nosremetnarg
Here is what I currently have in the DNS. The domain is registered through SqSp. Thanks Paul Link to comment
Nick_Allport-123
I have this same issue. I have added the Google TXT record to my squarespace DNS, but am getting the same error message about the email not authenticating in Google. I have also tried using a TXT splitter as I read that Squarespace couldn't handle that many characters, but it still doesn't work. Did you ever resolve this and if so, how? Link to comment
Nick_Allport-123
Hi, I am trying to link my DKIM from Gmail to Squarespace but it isn't working. I purchased the domain from GoDaddy, but host my website on Squarespace. I've added the Google TXT record to my custom squarespace DNS and have waited 48 hours, but Google is coming up with the error message, 'Email authentication was not verified. Please allow 48 hours for DNS to update and make sure that you entered the correct TXT record into your domain provider's DNS settings page.' I have also tried this process again, but this time split the Google TXT using an online DKIM TXT splitter because I read on Squarespace that the Google TXTs can contain too many characters and require splitting. I have exhausted all help options I can find online - please could anyone help? Thank you, Nick Link to comment
Nick_Allport-123
For anyone struggling, I found the fix: When creating the DKIM record in Google https://admin.google.com/ac/apps/gmail/authenticateemail, you need to select the 1024 bit, not the 2048 bit option. This is because the 1024 option is few characters and squarespace requires less characters in the TXT field. I deleted my 2048 bit TXT field in Squarepsace, re-generated a 1024 bit record in Google, and then uploaded it to Squarespace DNS and it worked! What a relief Link to comment
AidaB
Hi there, I'm encountering the same issue despite changing from 2048 to 1024 bit. I'm starting to go nuts... Is there anything else that I should be doing? Here's a screen from my console and from squarespace. Thanks for your help passiverent 1 Link to comment
passiverent
Hey all - I've also been experiencing the same problem and it's driving me crazy... can't seem to find a fix. @AidaB have you tried setting the host to google._domainkey.yourdomain.com? I initially used 1024 and it didn't work, but I was just using google._domainkey so I'm waiting to see if the combination of this updated host name and 1024 works for me. Link to comment
MGK
Hey there! I'm having the exact same problem with my DKIM key using 1024. Have waited several days and still the dreaded error message, 'Email authentication was not verified. Please allow 48 hours for DNS to update and make sure that you entered the correct TXT record into your domain provider's DNS settings page.' Did setting the host setting to this work: google._domainkey.yourdomain.com? Link to comment
