HELP - Needing help finishing out a coded website

Hello!

I hired a designer through SquareSpace and I unfortunately did not realize paying up front would leave me with a half designed website.

I am in need of correcting a few error messages I am getting on the backend, as well as some small changes like changing the colors of a few blocks, on a few pages.

I believe the coding that was used is something called GIT?? Can anyone help me out there? I am obviously happy to pay for the service, I just need someone who understands this coding and is honest and has integrity.

I am attaching a picture of some of the error messages that are showing up.

Thanks in advance!

If you've hired someone via the Squarespace Marketplace then the fees are normally (but not always) held by 99d until you confirm that the work is complete. If you're experiencing difficulties you may want to follow-up with your designer and, if necessary, with 99d.

Regarding your screenshot, these are 'warnings' not 'errors'. I appreciate that the difference between these may not be obvious, but these warnings are for developers and they do not affect the safe running of your site. For example, the "failed to load source map" warning is quite normal. It refers to the source map binary files that are needed by Squarespace engineers; you and your designer do not have access to them.

If you've paid for a website and are experiencing difficulties then I do recommend that you reach back to your designer and/or 99d. However if you have general questions, the community will be happy to help.

@paul2009 Thank you so much for your feedback and response. This is very helpful.

I was misinformed about these 'warnings' and told they were errors when I had reached out asking for help as to why a few of my pages are not loading, despite looking like they are linked properly.

I did hire someone through SquareSpace but they had me pay them directly, you mentioning this 99d is the first I have heard of that. So unfortunately I am out this money, since I already reached out to the owner of the company as well.

I am really just looking to potentially hire someone else to help me finish these last few items so that I can completely launch my site.

Very grateful for your response.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had a good experience. It can be difficult to book a freelancer which is why Squarespace only refer customers to their own 'Squarespace Marketplace'. Squarespace has partnered with 99designs (we know them as '99d') to match you with independent third-party web professionals who specialise in Squarespace and have been vetted for their quality of work, technical skills, years of Squarespace experience, and client-first approach.

When you accept a Squarespace Expert's quotation and submit payment, 99designs holds your payment and only releases it to your Expert when you say so — either at project milestones or when the work is complete.

If you're looking to hire someone else, there's a Squarespace guide here: Hiring a Squarespace Expert.
