Underline when hovering over choices from dropdown menu

Hello!

I'd love for the words in our dropdown menu to become underline (or more pale!) when hovering on them.

What would the code be and where would I add it?

For more pale:

.header-nav-item a:hover {
filter: brightness(50%);
}

For underline: 

.header-nav-item a:hover {
text-decoration: underline (!important);
}

and it worked great, however, it's only working/hovering when I'm on my home page. As soon as I go to another section, like my shop, it stops hovering.

How do I apply this code to my whole website?

What is your site url? We can check your code easier

Hi, I am having the same difficulty! Would anyone be able to assist? I want for my dropdown topics to be different in a hover state across all pages please! my site is password protected at the moment!

hi! i figured this one out as well - it was there all along I was just wasn't seeing it properly. All fixed now!
For reference though, my site name is lifeisagain.com but it's password protected because it is still very much under construction!
