SignBoss
Site URL: https://www.gillettecamels.com I know how to require a minimum order amount before Point of Sale checkout, but I really need a solution for credit/debit cards specifically. My client runs a concession stand and if someone buys a $1.00 candy bar and wants to pay with a card, the processing fees eat a lot of that. Is there any other option to add a service fee for card purchases that are below a minimum amount... say $10? Link to comment
Solution paul2009 Posted September 7, 2021 Solution Share Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) There isn't a specific feature for this. Most POS merchants simple explain that they don't accept card payments below a certain threshold, and that seems to work. Does that not work for them? In any case, charging a surcharge for card use is now illegal in many territories. Edited March 19, 2022 by paul2009 Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. It's just a little complicated when they use high school volunteers at the point of sale... will students remember that rule and/or enforce it? We were hoping for a built-in feature. Link to comment
camilla-taylor
It's complicated why you can't. One reason is that you can't add a surcharge to Visa and Mastercard debit cards. It's also illegal in some states in the USA.https://www.valuepenguin.com/credit-card-surcharges-convenience-fees Link to comment
