Gallery - Simple. Prevent blocks from auto sizing images.

Hi all,

I've hunted the net high & low but can't manage to find what i'm looking for. I maybe searching in the wrong places.

I'm in the process i've building a website. I'm not enjoying the resizing of images in the gallery placement. I'm hoping someone might be able to help with coding to fix the auto scaling.

I'm trying to use 1x1 square layout. Ideally the images wouldn't scale up leaving me with the results of attached images.
I understand you can do this in Indesign & upload squares but sure this would be more time affective.
