How to Show Brands in Search Results

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://flutesandflutists.com

Our store sells products made by many different brands, all with several different models. We've been working on our SEO and it's been going well enough. When you search for a specific model on Google, we come up usually within the top 5 results. But when you search for a particular brand, nothing comes up and that's because we have no pages on our website dedicated to their respective brands. In our store, the brands are all sorted by Tags.

What we're looking for is, to be able to have our results come up when someone searches for a brand, and then when they click on it, it takes them to our store with only products from that brand filtered. Is there a solution for this?

Hi,

I see your website store page and find out the solution for this. Since all your brands sorted based on the tag so all they have the specific URL like this one https://flutesandflutists.com/store/low-flutes?brands=Kingma

So i will create all the required pages based on your brand, like when some one search on google like "Kingma" brand so it will show a store page based on that selected brand. Hope you follow me.

If you need my help, just let me know.
Thank you

Since you're focusing on trying to increase SEO and search visibility for flute brand queries, I'd suggest the following:

Create a page for each brand you want to rank for, and optimize all the usual places for SEO - make sure the SEO title, description, page title, etc all include "[BRAND NAME] Flutes".

Then at the top of the page, include a short chunk of keyword-optimized text introducing what makes that brand unique, what kind of flutes they offer, what kind of player they might be best suited for ... (I'm not a flute expert!)

Then below that introductory brand-specific copy, add a Summary block, pulling from the product collection, and filtered using the brand tag just only display that brand.

Then make sure that the default system tag archive pages are set to SEO noindex in the settings.

These custom pages with some introductory text are much more likely to rank than the system-built tag archive.

Hope this helps!

That's awesome, thanks so much for this. I'll give that a go.

Could you please let me know where I can change that? I feel I've come across this before but now when I go looking for it, I can't find it. Thanks again!

Glad this was helpful.

On the question about setting the default tag archive pages to noindex, it actually seems like Squarespace has removed that setting in 7.1, which is a shame. However I don't think it changes the approach overall — the built in tag links aren't surfaced visually for users anywhere so Google is much more likely to select your custom-built "brand" pages as the authoritative page, especially if they're linked in your navigation and from other pages on your site.

I'll reach out to SS support and see if they plan to resurface that tag noindex setting somewhere else – will update here if I get a helpful response!

By navigation, you mean I should actually have them somewhere in my Menu bar? I am planning on linking the brands using the logos at the bottom of my store page: https://flutesandflutists.com/store/

Right now, those brands point to the brand's own sites, but I can create our own brand pages and point the logos to them. Would this be effective enough or should I have more links on my website pointing to those brand pages?

Sounds like product tag and categories don't result in system-created archives, so you don't need to worry about setting those to noindex.

Either way works. Adding links to the brand-organized collection pages in the navigation would offer a clear path to those pages for users from every page on the site — that also serves a clear signal to search engine crawlers that these are an important collection of pages on the site. That signal would be a little weaker if they're those pages are only accessible from linked logos on the store page.
